I really liked this movie myself, even tho it was slow and broken out of the gates. The further I got into the movie, the more intriguing it got. The thought of making aliens with higher technology a 2nd class citizen play's on the inherent weakness of mankind who has had a history of doing the same thing to every other creature including their own. I found the ending to be thought provoking also. With the broken up beginning tho and the time it took me to get emotionally involved, I can only give it a 3 out of 5 stars, even tho the ending was to me much stronger than that. Cheers,Robin
They shoulda made it more like Golden Compass, eh Robin? PS. Prepare to get whooped by Philly tonight!!!
I can only hope & pray there's a better chance that the movie industry will finish that damn movie with a sequel than there is of the Eagles beating my Cowboys! Cheers,Robin
Wow, what a pathetic showing by the Eagles...at least now Donovan will have more free time to play the air guitar
Heck I'd also like to see a Dictrict 9 sequel where the aliens return.
I just saw this and I found it disturbing and moving and one of the best movies I've ever experienced. Great art should evoke an emotional reaction and this piece certainly did that to me. There is a certain perverse beauty in the use of such gross and disgusting visual imagery that I can't it get out of my mind. An extraordinarily well crafted movie. As others have pointed out, it seems a bit disjointed at first as it draws you in. By the end, we are witness to the development of a relationship that transforms these characters.
This movie really reminds me of Buckaroo Banzai and a bit of Shawn of the Dead. Great movie.*Spoiler Alert*I wonder if the Prawns were originally more human like before getting infected by their energy source's pollutant. Christopher Johnson did say he can turn Wikus back to human...
