servo sub cab construction
« on: 14 Dec 2009, 01:19 am »
Howdy,

I decided on a 12" servo and I'm building the cab like the GR plan that is identical to the F12 cab.
Are there any pros or cons to rounding over the inside circle of the braces? Would it actually affect the sound at all in any measureable way?

Thanks!
Jeff

If the woofers were playing up to the level of a tweeter then I would round off all the edges and not leave any untreated flat surfaces that would cause a surface reflection. For a sub-woofer application, it isn't going to matter.

I kinda figured that-although I already rounded them. It seems that in a vented application, it might be a benefit for airflow?

Yeah, if it is vented then you are contending with some flow of air and not just pressure in the box. It can't hurt.
