My buffer all grounded to the main ground bus, but I added an extra ground to the chassis too.

Hi Jerrin, thanks,
and thanks for posting pics of yours. I used them while putting mine together.
Looking forward to the final product.

I hooked up the parts, temp wire job, while waiting for the case to ship.
I could not believe my ears, it was like taking a blanket off my speakers.
I have been running an Anthem SS pre and amp.

Have you had a chance to listen to yours yet?
Neil

*laughs*  I just noticed you asked my impressions.   lol

I absolutely agree with you about the (oft used) veil.  I too have SS amps and the sound was just alluring.

Yes, I do owe you and Mr. Dodd a great thanks.

I don't feel like I am exaggerating either.  This thing added "magic" to my system.  I was late to work today because I couldn't bear to stop listening.  I think my wife and I will only listen to music tonight for our entertainment.

I used Duelund VSF copper caps.  One measured 3.30, the other 3.31.   I believe they were around $175 each.  If this is what changed the tone, I would run; not walk, and buy some if you can.  IMO, well worth the cost and work to mount them.

I used Duelund VSF copper caps.  They were matched too.  One measured 3.30, the other 3.31.   I believe they were around $175 each.  If this is what changed the tone, I would run; not walk, and buy some if you can.  IMO, well worth the cost and work to mount them.

Right now, I can not imagine it sounding any better. But that idea comes and goes.
Thanks for the feedback

Neil, if you want to see how the sound can change for the better, think about either bypassing the caps with the Platniums, or getting some Clarity Cap MR's as main caps.  The MRs can be bought as a pair for around $120 or so.

If I were not planning to run all of my 2 channel listening though the buffer, I would have bought the MRs.  They are much more affordable and probably deliver 85% or so of the Duelunds.   When I upgrade the caps in my LS9's, I'm probably going to use a combination of Duelunds and MRs for the caps.

I cannot wait to get home today!   Is it 6:00 yet??!!!     :rules:

How is Gary doing btw? I was hoping to get a face plate from him but did not want to bother him with making one if he has still not recovered.
