Just received my Dodd Battery PA with Purpleheart front panel.  Looks great!

Here is a picture of the unit that Gary took.

Got the battery charged and ready for trials tommorow with the Super-V's.

WOOHOO!   :D

Had the battery PA running with my N2X's yesterday in my room.  It was sounding very good indeed with the IsoMike SACD recording of Beethoven's Sonata's last evening.  Was just playing the CD layer on my NAD C565BEE player.  Will give the SACD layer a try this evening.

Sounds like a fantastic setup Rich - especially for the money.  Love the Purpleheart too.  I do believe I'm suffering a touch of tube envy....

btw, you planning on making the trip to CES?

Will not be able to make CES this year.

RMAF is pretty much my preferred show to attend.  Not anywhere near as spralwing as CES has become.  Spent alot of time last time I went to CES on buses to go point A-B.  Need to come up with a new plan for the next time I go.

Ok here is the setup:

Oppo 981HD -> HAL Monolith Battery powered DAC ->Dodd Battery Preamp -> Dodd Battery stereo amp -> GR-Research N2X + Onix ELT PBS.

Cables are Electra interconnects and Analysis-Plus Oval 9 speaker cables.

This setup sounds wonderful on everything from CD, DVD-A, SACD to HiRez files.  Very transparent and neutral.  Dynamics are very good in a setup about 8' from my listening positon.

Playback of the Reference Recording HRx files via the HiFace into the HAL Monolith DAC is amazing to me.  I am finally hearing what RR master tapes sound like!  Very nice indeed!  The Dodd/GR-Research setup are the open window needed to let this setup make music.

Hope that folks get to hear this gear making music in a good listening room.  It is truly a wonderful sounding setup!
