Musica Bella 'Basis" Preamplifier Tour
« on: 30 Nov 2009, 01:55 am »
I may be looking at putting together a small tour of our Musica Bella 'Basis' linestage after the holidays. I would like to limit this tour to only those who are in the market for a tube linestage in this price point and may be interested in the Basis linestage.

We will have special pricing to AC members and friends who purchase from the tour.

Depending on the feedback we get in this poll, we would start the tour after the New Year.

Thanks for those words Pez,
Obviously finish is not the 'most' important aspect with audio products but the final look of these is limited only to one's imagination. We have gathered some really nice veneers over time as well as access to some nice hardwoods.

The demo unit has been driving my 3205 MKIII for a while now and after the first of the year, I will be putting together a system with the matching SE10 single ended amplifier. Just trying to figure out what speakers I want to use in this system. Seriously considering a pair of Omega Loudspeakers.

Here is an updated list of some of the veneer/hardwood options we currently have on hand.

Bill,

I am not in the market for a preamp but i would love to hear it.  I could arrange for a MAAC gathering to let others hear it if you want.  I can compare it to SWLP and an MBL unit here.

I would be interested in a demo.  I am using SS now and want to go back to tubes.

Thanks for taking the time to vote and leave some comments. Here is a quick shot of the chassis that will be used for the tour unit. This is the main circuit chassis. The PowerMax (power supply) chassis will be the same minus the inserts.

This chassis uses our standard Baltic Birch construction with the addition of 1/8" thick Mahogany hardwood with Curly Maple insets.

That's kinda the plan aa  If someone purchases this unit, I can make another for the tour.

I have chassis made up from a while back and will build units as ordered.

I'm thinking in about two weeks. I will send it out right after the Holidays.

Slight change of plans. My supplier can no longer provide me with the Figured Mahogany used to build the unit above. Since this will be the only Figured Mahogany / Curly Maple unit, I want to hold onto this one for a sale. I will have to use another finish for the tour piece.

This piece will still be available at the $1,695 introductory price.

I much prefer my Mapletree with 6SN tubes instead of the 12SN tubes.  This thing will be a killer unit for sure.

Hello All,
I have to apologize but some OEM work, mod work and customers' orders took precedence over the tour unit. We had a few Basis preamp orders come through as well as having to switch remote units in the Basis and Basis Extreme. The tour will still take place but is postponed for the moment.

To make things easier for a tour unit, we will build this one in a one piece 15" wide "road worthy" chassis since it will be shipped around.Maybe even a unique, custom chassis. I will provide an update when the tour is rescheduled. Probably late May.

In the mean time. let me know what you would like to see in regard to the chassis.

The one below is the latest to be ordered. I just have to make the knobs (ones shown are not going with it).
