Icon Amp + S-1 + W-1?
« on: 29 Nov 2009, 09:31 pm »
Is it feasible to drive a pair of S-1 speakers and a W-1 subwoofer with an Icon Amp?  It appears that the outputs of the Icon Amp are different than those on the original Icon, and that it omits the variable line out required by the W-1.  I don't need the DAC so the Icon Amp with its higher output would be preferable to the original Icon.

Unfortunately, S-1 requires the built-in EQ network in the Icon, therefore, it would not work with Icon Amp.

Not feeling how the S-X looks but if the S-2 is anything like the S-1 I'll be all over it.

S-X sounds slightly different than S-1 (they are just two different full range drivers) but both are very good.

Another combinations if people want to use the S-1:
Icon HDP + Icon + S-1 + W-1
