Mike, I still have your original ACI catalog as well as others before everything went online.  I became a fan when you guys were still selling kits.  I still have a couple of them.  My son uses an SV-10 sub kit in his HT and it sounds great.

I recently retired after 40 years.  You're right to put your family and teaching career first.  I wish you and your family the very best.  I hope you're able to close the deal and keep ACI going.

Man! This is a great loss in the audio world .

Mike, I have the pleasure of owning 2 of your original Force subs. Man I wouldn't trade them for the world! I have yet to here a sub that compares.

I hope everything works out great for you.

At the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest a few years ago, Mike told me that twenty-something of his former fledgling DIY customers were now full-grown loudspeaker manufacturers.  Not a bad legacy, I'd say.

Mike, you were extremely helpful to me back in those wild and crazy days of Strathearns and Dynaudios.  Many, many thanks from me and the rest of the twentysomething.

And very best to you, your family, and those fortunate enough to have you as a teacher.

Mike,

After three years in a new home I finally got the 7.3 system fully installed and mounted and just rediscovered how great the Panos, Essence, Maestros and Titans can sound.

Logged in and saw your announcement!   Good luck to you and thanks for being first class all the way!

Mike,

While its unfortunate that more people will not be able to enjoy the fine speakers you craft, I bet you will love having some quality family time.  You can be sure that I'll be listening to my Sapphire XLs for a long time to come.

Cheers and have fun,

Ajay

Mike,
I love me Titan II LE.
You were missed at RMAF this year but here's a picture I took a RMAF 2006.

Enjoy your retirement.
All the best. :thumb:

I hope that retirement works well for you.  Thanks for your contribution to AC and specifically our Jr. Audiophile projects over the years.  As a fellow educator, I understand just how much goes into doing a good job in the classroom.  And as a sometimes speaker builder, I am just in awe of you guys that can tweak the magic out of a set of drivers by adjusting a half an ohm or a few tenths of a milli Henry.  Best of luck.

Congrats and condolences, both.  You've had a great run and ACI is one of the few universally respected audio companies I can think of.  It's sad to see leave ACI behind but you certainly deserve it.  I do hope someone steps in to keep the brand alive and continue on a proud name. :thumb:

Mike

Good luck in your future plans.I bought an DVC 12 sub driver from you about 10 years or more ago, when I first got into diy. It's still serving me well today.

Mike,

Best wishes in the future and hope you will find some time to continue to participate on AC even without ACI involvement.

Good luck to you Mike.  It was a pleasure meeting and displaying with you at RMAF for a few years.  Great stuff and a great guy.

Mike,

It was a pleasure talking to you from way back and meeting you personally at a past RMAF. I still have one of your original Titan's, not playing music...but playing "notes" as indicated then!

Good luck.  :thumb:

Sad to hear this. The Sapphire XLs will become a classic design in high-end audio history. Back from RMAF 2009, when I listened at home to the same CD I took to the show, I discovered that my humble system was more satisfying than most of those I listened to in Denver. Not bad for an under-$2k speaker.

Mike,

The best of luck to you.  Hope you can relax more without having to run a business.  Family is and should be the first priority.

Cheers,
Paul

Mike, best wishes in your future endeavors.  ACI has always been about great quality in its products and in its relationship with its customers.  This obviously reflects on the quality of its owner.

I bought a Jaguar/LFM combo from you that had been one of the final prototypes, and (I think) in your house.  I have always been extremely proud of that   :thumb:  I had previously purchased a Sapphire IIe/sub combo and intended to sell them after the Jag purchase.  Much to my wife's chagrin, I had to create a second system in a spare bedroom because I just couldn't bear with the thought of parting with the Sapp's.  Your products have, and will continue to, provide me with hours of enjoyment.  Thanks so very much!!

I wish you well too Mike!  We are still enjoying our cherry Force XL which continues to make great sound in our system - it's one of my favorite audio purchases that I've ever made.  I have always been well-treated by you and your company, and received excellent advice from you as well.  Thanks for the great products and customer-service - you will be missed!  Perhaps you will still pop-in to this forum once in a while, to continue to advise and help if/when you have time.

By the way, I didn't know that you were a teacher - I wonder what subject and level do you teach?
