1oldguy,
I'll bet those big Brystons could really bring my Dyns to life!
There's B&W speakers and then there's B&W SPEAKERS! It looks as if you have the latter. How do the 7B SSTs work with those?
I have got to scrape up some cash for my next upgrade. One nice thing though about owning brands like Bryston, Krell, Levinson, Mac, etc, is that they maintain decent resale value. I don't mean to offend anyone but guys are buying these Chinese amps for hefty sums and the resale on them is horrible. At least I know that I have $1300.00-$1400.00 in the bank with mine. It almost seems as if their has been a rebound in market value of the 300 iL 400xi since the introduction of the new Chinese made Krell S300. Besides Bryston 7B SSTs I would also be interested in the Krell FPB 350cx amplifier. I am a bit worried though what that class A monster would do to the electric bill though.

"Upgrading" for me is a tough call as I would have to buy the prospective item in order to compare it to what I currently have. I was able to compare the Krell to quite a number of some of the supposed "finest" integrated under $2500.00 and some pretty good separates as well, yet the budget Krell sits here today. It does have some fine attributes. The build quality is exemplary, it has a very wide soundstage, excellent articulation, dynamics, neutrality and of course bass. I think that if someone likes the Bryston sound than the Krell sound is probably in their ballpark as well. Neither are of much interest to tube lovers and it probably boils down to best bang-for-the-buck.
Following up on my previous posts, I made a phone call to Krell and was propmtly called back by their COO, Walt Schneider. He was very courteous gave me a lot of information and offered me a plant tour if I was ever in the area.
