I've got one and I love it.  I think it sounds much better than my Pioneer Elite DV-45A.  Video wise, they're about the same, except that the Denon has a nice memory buffer for video.  I've never yet been able to detect a layer change (that sort of pause or momentary 'freeze' of the video when the disc reaches the midpoint and switches layers).

Very good bass management, too.

Ditto

For the price it is pretty darn versatile and performs well.

You're right, there is no pause between layer change.  SACD sounds really good with 2 channel or multi.  I haven't tried any DVD-A yet.   I did watch BAD BOYS II again and it sounded so much better than my old TOSHIBA dvd-a player and of course thanks to my new EARTHQUAKE 5 CHANNEL AMP.  8)  Although I've notice the LED'S on the front of the amp lights up when there is big explosions and loud passages in some of the DVD'S I've watched mainly the main channels.  Maybe I'm pushing the speakers too hard.  What do you guys think?

Make sure the amp is plugged directly into the wall and not a power strip or extension cord.  That should keep the caps charged.

I've not seen the LED's come on, except for the cannon shots on the 1812 Overture and then only briefly. :o

8) The amp is plugged in the wall.  Could I be overtaxing the speakers?  According to Polk  The specs on it says minimum amp power is between 50-500 watts.  Could that be wrong?

Next football season I may be really tempted to pick up a new HDTV.  If I do I will be buying either the Denon 2200 or the 2900 (or their successors).  I love Denon's quality and say what you want about the looks but I prefer their understated style.
