srclose,  I'm glad to hear you liked the Super V's, I was sure you would.

would an open baffle design like the super v's flanking a large dlp be more or less affected than a closed box/ported design?

Should be less due to the dipole nulls at the side. Just keep them out from the rear wall.

Steve,

Very happy with the sound, and these should work better in our current room.  Wish we could have come by.  There is something special about an open baffle for sure. Now to get a cabinet and begin work on the crossovers.

It doesn't take much power to motivate these speakers. This little 15 watt, battery powered, tube amp will make them scream.

Just curious... I see in this pic the buffer is right under the amp.
Where are the tubes on the buffer? I thought they needed to be fully exposed to air or something to keep from overheating?

The tubes are on the inside.  The tubes run very cool! :D
Also both sides are vented for air flow thru the buffer. I did this so they could be stacked the way Danny has done.
These are coming off the assembly line now and I'll have several of them very very soon! :green:

Four pairs to the UK, then Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Canada....

and wondered... Are these built yet and are they on the listen list?

I got an amp from Gary based on that amp in October 2010. Worked great for a month then the power supply fried. Been waiting for a replacement ever since. Gary says he's been waiting for a guy to build the power supplies but I've been 15 months now without a working amp....

I don't know, he's a great guy but man, I don't know what I can do, seems I'll never get a working amp. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, the guy that is designing the new power supply (power converter) has really been holding Gary up. I have been in close contact with the guy over it. He says he now has it sorted out and is sending Gary a new version. I am really looking forward to it. I have mono-block versions of that amp that has been held up by this guy too. And my 15 watt version (pictured here) died the third day of RMAF. It needs the new power supply now too.

Well that's some good news, I feel better knowing it's actually happening.

I'm sure it's super frustrating for Gary too.

Thanks Danny.

No kidding. These little amps sound incredible and Gary could have been selling tons of them if he had a working power supply for them.

Sounds like he needs to find a new designer.
