Looking for something to test system well. Acoustic bass, piano, vocals, cymbals, electric guitar, etc.

The recent Beatles mono remasters would be my suggestion, especially Sgt Pepper and the White Album.

IIRC, Stereophile produced a test CD that contains much of what you're looking for.  Good luck.  Cordially,

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

I recommend the Hybrid SACD (mono) Django   http://www.sa-cd.net/showtitle/2291
very good mono sound (Rudy van Gelder) on SACD, analog recordings from 1953,54,55
There is Piano, Bass, Drums and Vibes, eight tracks and 39 minutes.  Top performance and very beautiful music.
