Bought a Kathleen Edwards disc that has NO label side--one side has three live songs and the other side has two videos on DVD. This was the first instance of this technology that I've seen. Any other experience???

BTW, I had to clean the DVD several times right out of the box, but finally got it to play without glitches.  Don't know if this is due to the double-sided manufacturing or just a coincidence.

Read problems on the DVD side should have nothing to do with with being 2 sided assuming it's manufactured properly.

Do you have any other problems reading DVD's with that player?

As it only has 2 videos on it, I'd guess that it's only a single layer DVD. Which should make it no different that any SACD, DVD-A, or regular DVD. As those are all manufactured in a 2 piece manner.

I don't have any CD/DVD discs myself. But I do recall The Blair Witch Project 2 being sold that way. Movie on one side, CD soundtrack on the other.

I've got plenty of double sided DVD's though. Some DVD-10's, some are DVD-14's, and a few are even DVD-18's (which are no longer produced). Haven't had a problem with any of them.

Yes, problems now and then with playing DVD's--it's an older Pioneer that wasn't too expensive.
