Gryphon Tabu Century (top picture) and NAD S300.
The Gryphon costs approximately twice as much.

Uhm... Isn't this story about 6 years old now? Gryphon even admitted in the press that they just sort of sold the design of the Tabu to NAD...

vvv, I've heard those at CES. It is the first speaker that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Honestly!

The system there was all TAD. Amps, preamp, and SACD player. Plus they had a reel to reel deck and I believe a turntable.
:)
What other speakers did you hear at CES?
I re-listened to TAD R1 today, and have a hard time not buying them. But I will wait some years and buy a pair of speakers at that price class then. They are very good indeed.

Earlier today I listened to Gallo Reference 3.5 with Bladelius amplification and player. That was a big dissapointment.

Mrs. Laundrew also likes this set up. She does not enjoy having shelves full of CDs in her room.

Be well...

The original Gallo Reference 3.0-3.1 Loudspeaker for the price when hooked up to Bryston sounded good to me....however they remade the speaker and "Improved" it....and called it the Gallo Reference 3.5 and then the price was doubled......however i still gave it a listen and it does sound better then the previous model, but NOT for double the price and still Made in Asia.

BrystonFan,

you are welcome :thumb:. not really sure about a BIT yet. i have a SP2 in the bedroom waiting for an upgrade (hopefully ). i think that a BIT is more a tuning thing that can be looked at later if the desired source/preamp/amp situation is completed?!

man, that new player sounds sooo good...have to go back to the living room.wow!

Since you got the bdp, time to sell the bcd and 4B and get a new 14B. Go even a little further and get an rm10 for your front end stuff. I see you have the ribbon tweeters. 14B and ribbons are like two peas in a pod.

That some dam good advice, i gaurantee it !!!!
