Finally settled on the basic design trim for the built-in CD shelf for the listening room renovation and all it is required now is to add the finishing trim work.

Replaced the narrow decorative, vertical support trim piece for a less ornate but substantially wider/thicker vertical column as it now looks much more proportional. I will also use moulding to "tie" the top of the CD shelf to the ceiling to further underline its built-in aesthetics, this will be duplicated for the bookshelf opposite the CD shelf.

Just under 130 CDs per shelf for a total of almost 1300 CDs. My mainstream CDs will be stored in our spare room closet. It will be awesome to finally have my music organized and readily available.

The bookshelf is now trimmed to match the CD shelf - now a collection of most favourite books will be close at hand and there is also room for a few of my cherished antique radios with a "smattering" of Day Of The Dead statues. More sanding and the day draws closer for the final paint job - I have started "haunting" a few carpet stores for that "just right" broadloom.

The listening room renovation has been fun thus far and it is great bringing a concept into corporeal form. Perhaps the first selection to be played in the new listening room will be from Enigma. Oh please be still, my most fragile beating heart.

It is truly amazing how a coat of primer paint can make almost anything look much better.
