Super V custom build
« on: 4 Nov 2009, 10:12 pm »
I would like to build two pairs of V1 cabinets, one for myself and another on commission.  I have made a couple minor aesthetic changes to the architecture which will not compromise the speaker.  If you are interested in the second pair of cabinets please shoot me a PM for details.  I really want to build these, I've spoken with too many people who said Danny really knocked this one out of the park  :thumb:

The path I'm going down:
Solid wood slab or veneered and inlaid sides....
Veneered or solid sub cabinet with joinery details...

Just a quick rendering with Black Walnut Crotch and Birds-eye Maple

This thread has now been split. So back to regularly scheduled programming.

Chris makes some really nice cabinets and is looking to build a couple of pairs of these. Now who else wants a pair?

Well I want one, just considering how to pay for it.  Selling a pair of Epiphanies would help.

Tom & Danny...thanks for putting this train back on track.

I'll be finalizing the design and working out construction details for the speakers in the next week and at that time I will have a better grasp on what price I need to realize for the second pair.

I gave this one its own thread in industry ads as well.

Chris, I can't wait to see what yours looks like and hope you find many more that will appreciate your great work.

I'll have more of the SW-12-16FR woofers in stock after the first of the year and can once again start shipping these kits. I might even find time to get it up on my web site for 2010.  :thumb:

I really enjoy Larry's DAC and recommend his work without reservation.

As far as cabinets go I'll contact you via PM. I've had many requests for flat-packs and partially built cabinets. I have no interest in flat-pack production work. In fact my style of woodworking is the exact opposite. I do not use CNC machines, I use chisels and hand planes. There are guys here who are into production style cabinets and they are the ones to go to if this interests. I have no intention of sounding snide but I am a studio furniture builder so my plan is to create just a couple pairs of studio quality cabinets...and by studio I do not mean textured black mdf
