I'd like to find a list of DACs that accept 24/96, or better, via SPDIF (optical and coax) and USB.

Thoughts?

ETA - firewire will work for me as well.  Thanks Crimson.

I can go firewire too.  Good point.

ETA - A few firewire DACs are on another list from teb_b's link as well.

The list of DAC's doing 24bit asynchronous is pretty short...due in part to, as I understand it, the high buy in cost for the CEntrance code.

I just picked up (waiting for it to ship) a Twisted Pear ESS Sabre Buffalo with a 24/96 USB receiver using the CEntrance code that allows one to run 24 bit, 96kHz files straight out of your USB port in full resolution.  Not sure if this qualifies for the "list" as it was built as a one-off by Larry Moore of UltraFi who has the CEntrace code.

I gather the new Nuforce Icon HDP pre amp will do it. I've been happy with the icon hooked to my mac mini at standard res 8).

How about firewire?

I got an Edirol FA-66. Reasonably priced and seems to work well.
