Nothing new with that diffusor information, is there?
Here is the latest news on them:
Acoustic Building Block Diffuser Series: 2.2lb density EPS. They will dent fairly easily when raw, so be advised. They are shipped with protective packing material (cardboard and masonite panels) that can be used to tune the low frequency absorption characteristics of the diffusers. Properly used they can provide broadband absorption/diffusion from 80Hz to beyond audibility. The cardboard and masonite can be attached to the diffusers (anything from double stick tape while tuning, to glue when done playing) to add mass. They behave as diaphragmatic absorbers when mass loaded. The heavier the added mass the lower the effective tuning of the absorber. Ultimately we will have a guesstimate chart for room tuning that will go along with the products.

A pair of ABB Diffusers are a matched male and female set. They are 23 ?? wide X 23 ?? high. The depth of the different pieces of the series are nominally:
ABB1 4 1/4"
ABB2 6 1/4"
ABB3 9 7/8"
Standard color selections are these eggshell Behr Paint colors:
Linen White 1870
Dried Chervil ICC-105
Library Red ICC-82
Traditional Leather ICC-81
Pure Black
Pure White
Custom color selection is determined by Behr Paint Colors available at Home Depot. Any color may be ordered by using the Behr Paint number. The upcharge for this service is a flat fee of $50.00 per order.
The sealer is a polyurethane coating that gives a harder shell on the surface of the diffuser and also is less absorbent in the high frequencies. We do not recommend them to be used raw. They really do need a painted finish. We are offering them raw for the true DIYer. The painted finish is slightly absorbent in the very high frequencies. The standard finish is an eggshell sheen, but we can do any thing from a flat to gloss finish.
There will be a knocked down, interlocking 8' wide X 4' high grid system available for them in the near future, but this can be easily made by the average DIYer to separate the pieces and make 'em look nice.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be updating my website in the near future when I have some pictures to go along with the verbage.
