I am not going to say much about that thing yet. I'll let it speak for itself. And it's not just about the chip set being used.
Well, Danny, now that you've hyped this DAC and stirred up interest, why don't you start a separate thread and the company can post to it when the product is ready for beta or for sale?

Danny,

What led you to the CX38?  I remember you were not impressed with the response and was afraid of the Qts being too low to work with an open baffle configuration.

BTW, it does seem a little low.

Although it seems you are very happy with them.  I can't wait to hear them.  See Ya on Friday.

FWIW.  You can save 33% by "buying it direct" instead of from the Audiogon link.  http://web.me.com/ehider/Site/Purchase.html  I'd like to know more details about this product but the site seems to be lacking in this respect.

This link that was provided above,
http://dbaudiolabs.com/
seems to have about as much info on it as I think you will find right now.

Intro'd for $995
It has piqued my interest...

Hi All
Hoping to read something about how the Super Vs sound.  Anyone out there who can help?
Hi Danny
I am guessing that you are unbelievably busy, but when you can, please give your impression of the differences betwen the V-1 and the Super V.
Thanks

Danny-  I asked Gene Pitts to drop in on your room and listen.  Don't know if he will or if he does will introduce himself.  He is the man behind the old AUDIO magazine.  His new hard copy publication is The Audiophile Voice.  He likes new designs to review for his mag.  Hope you get to meet him.  He is a character.

Good question. I answered it in this thread. http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=71649.20

One of the people that reviews speakers for TAV is Bascom King.

He did the review of the BeoLab 5 speakers that have built-in automatic room bass correction.  Compared them to the B&W801 Matrix Series III speakers that are his reference.

The Super V has a slight edge in resolution and detail levels. Vocals are slightly more natural sounding as well. Not huge, but clearly a little better sounding.

Does exposing the diaphram on the compression driver affect the power handling or (forward) sonics any way, or just allow dipole radiation?

It is not going to effect power handling very much.

Besides, with a 15 watt amp on it at the show we were hitting 105db peaks. How much louder would you want it.

Can somebody point me to a drawing, or at least just a page with physical dimensions for the SW-12-16FR subs used here?  I need to know clearances.

The through hole is 11" and the outer edge (diameter) of the frame is 12.625".

I am thinking that from the back side of the gasket to the back of the bumped back plate is about 6.5".

Is it just me, or is this another company that loves to use Front Panel Express as well  :thumb: They sure do great milling work.
