I think Ive come to the conclusion that I like the flavor of Habeneros a bit more than Jalapenos. But I love them both. I ate them all though:( Hopefully next year we will grow more!

There's a six of Paulaner Marzen in there to wash it down with, so that should help.

I was surprised that there was so much heat in there. I knew about most of the items individually, but had never thought of them all together like that.

I make Green chile stew and green chile sauce and other dishes with my favorite Hatch green Chiles.

I do enjoy any chiles. But the Hatch are my number one.

It is that time of year again. :thumb:

Just ordered 2 cases of #10 can fire roasted chopped green chilis (about 90 pounds of chilis).  Can't wait to make a bowl of green.

Whataburger still has their Green Chile burger in the computer/register. I had never thought of having them on a burger before... so much lost time to make up for.

Mike,
I know that Houston is a different culture from my Abilene, but never put chili's on a hamburger??? Next you'll tell me that you never scrambled up a bunch with eggs for breakfast!!

First time I tasted Hatch chiles was in Albuquerque at a local mexican restaurant.  It was the most unique and addicting flavor I've encountered from chiles.  I've ordered freeze dried powder from a vendor in Hatch, but even the medium powder was much hotter than jalapeno.   When I was on Maui I found a place that used them too and made a bee line for it.  Not as good as New Mexico, but still wonderful.  Thanks for that memory V.L.!

Hey Scott,

Yeah, things are a little different down here at Baghdad on the Bayou, and given how much I've moved around, I should know better. Chiles with eggs? I have been doing that for years. It just never occurred to me to Cross The Streams.

I stayed in Colorado Springs the week after RMAF and went on a mini Chile Verde tour there.

I had Green Chile Stew at four different places ranging from medium to scorching, with different variations of ingredients, such as tomato in one, riper chile's in another which gave it a redder cast, potato in most, and Hatch Chiles and pork in all of them. One I think even had TVP (textured vegetable protein) instead of potato.

The most flavorful and hottest was at "The Loop" in Manitou Springs, CO.

The second hottest was breakfast at "The Western Omelette " in The Springs, where I had their mild Green Chile sauce over Huevos Rancheros. Whew!!!
I usually get the half hot and half mild, but my server warned me off, thankfully. :o

Except for breakfast, all chile was accompanied by awesome local brews including Laughing Lab, Yeti, Fat Tire and a Zebulon's Peated Porter at Phantom Canyon Brewery in Downtown Colorado Springs.

It's been almost a week and I couldn't stand it any longer so I whipped up a Green Bean Casserole with some Big Jim Hatch chiles and Pork Chops.

Sweating all over the keyboard.

Thanks James, good to see you too. Some of the hotest green chile I have had in the Denver area is at Santiagos. It's rare that I find a green chile where I have to order 1/2 hot, 1/2 mild. Since I returned from RMAF I made a green chile casserole with hot chiles from Hatch. Yum,
