Jeff,  I missed the cut on the Ampino tour, so I'll be very curious to hear how this amp compares to the Virtue TWO, which is my primary as well, and which I pretty much am in love with.

Droht, I am so sorry that I missed your name. Ofcause I'll make the adjustments right away.
beeah is in NY so maybe I'll split my week with him if he agrees.

Ones again sorry for missing your name on the list.

Mariusz - I'm happy to split my week if it will help get someone else on board.

There are no more vacancies (unfortunately).
It had to be done so I would not have to change the list ......... not in your favor.
I can split the week with you - no problem.
Do not need a month to tell how it sounds.
If I really like it (and others) we can organize the group buy which can save us some records/cds money.

You have got PM.

Well, ..... it is a risky business. Not all manufacturers want to take chances with hard core "audiofouls" like us. Maybe because we tell it as it is... :duh:

On the other hand it can make the company if the product gets favorable reviews or impressions.
(look at MiniWatt - many great reviews from respected publications-web and our own AC members)

At the end, it is a two way street.

Mariusz, no sweat - it wasn't an issue if I missed the tour.  I appreciate you adding me though, and the effort you put in to this.  It is much appreciated.  I will flip the amp in two days when I have it, so hopefully my listening time will be just a speed bump on the tour.

Thanks again.

Mariusz,

Jeff

YES IT IS!

Jeff - please be a little bit more patient.
It took a bit longer then expected and quite a bit of correspondence to finalize it.
I just received email from Mr. Zoran that Ampino amp has been shipped.
The tour unit is an upgraded version.
Upgrade includes:
- Mundorf capacitors in power supply section
- Mundorf ZN instead of Mundorf MCap3% for input.

I will let you know when it arrives.

Ampino is 220?, upgraded version is 280?. Shipping is
130? for two units,
160? for three units,
200? for four units.

Group buy (10 units - free shipping)

I'll keep you all posted on the progress and other news from Mr.Zoran.

MEE 2.  I am very curious to hear about this tour.  Any chance of extending this tour if it's still in progress?   aa

I want to inform you about some complications.
Ampino amp arrived in NY and was lost.
Then, it was found but for some strange reasons was send back to Serbia.
At this point the whole tour is in question.
I might just purchase the unit and then proceed with the tour.
Although, it will take few emails to find the solution.

Well, you are a most patient enthusiast.....and a friend to the AC community for wading through all this frustration.  From all of us, thanks.

BTW, I'd love to piggyback on this tour if/when it gets started up again.   aa

Thanks buddy and I know how you feel.
It is very frustrating and fragile situation.
I for one would like to see this tour happen and I am sure Mr. Zoran would like to see it as well.
Stuff like package mishandling by USPS make things complicated and inconvenient.
Hopefully, we can work it out with Mr. Zoran and bring Ampino amp to US for AC members and get some exposure to Mr. Zoran and his line of products.

In January, I will talk about one of my phonostages which is converted to run on batteries with help of my good friend and contributor to AC forum.
Also in January I will have an alternative to Wadia transporter which will be battery powered as well.

Both products deserve a place in Cheap and Cheerful circle. (for digital and analog aficionados)

P.S

Happy Holidays to all AC members and even better New Year!!!

He (Dayens) could benefit by having a North American distributor.

The proprietor of Dayens is a gentleman named Dejan Dobrin. As far as I know , he and his son, Zoran do the building of the equipment in Sabac, Serbia.  I bought an Ampino back in the summer and it did take a while to be delivered.
My impression is that they are a very small operation that does very nice work.  I can't imagine that they have any need of an American distributor, they just don't do that kind of volume.  Very nice people all the same.

Aloha--Just heard from Mr Dobrin of Dayens on the Ampino monos amps.  "Ampino monos are almost finished, electronics are ready and tested, face-plates are ready, cases are in manufacture. First hearing tests and impressions are more than promising.  We are also developing passive preamplifier which will be perfectly matched with our monos".
