Thanks for all the input, guys! The new computer will be here tomorrow and loaded by my IT buddy. We really need to be up and running with our engineering software as we are busy at AVA with some new stuff (Oops), and can't afford the down time. We will try to recycle this computer if it doesn't cost to much. A new hard drive and a total re-install should make it almost like new. The wife is eye'n it up allready.

New computer is up and running, tho my CAD stuff needs to have some settings made. And all my internet shortcuts are gone. This was not fun, but not as unpleasant as I thought it would be.

Old computer is now running great (of course) and It seems to have repaired itself. But it is 7 years old so it was time to get a new one. Not sure if I like the 16 x 9 screen.

Frank, the AVA sheet metal engineering department is back on line!!!!!!

Gosh, this is something I wouldn't want to do again for a few years. It took from 9:30 till now to get everything (almost) back to normal. Does anyone know how to copy and paste Favorites from the internet explorer?

You've got to export Favorites to a comma separated file (csv) from one system, and then import that same file into your new system.  Hope that makes sense.

Go to C:\documents and settings\ and then go to the folder with your username.  In that folder there is a folder called "favorites".  Copy the contents of that folder to the same folder on the new machine.
