This is a bargain - it is a fully assembled, functional Grounded Grid preamp with upgraded parts for less money than the basic kit.  My Grounded Grid preamp is something of a revelation... this one could be yours!

Hi guys, thanks for the comments.

Brad, I am a little surprised to see that 12dB gain spec on Transcendent's website, as I usually have a pretty good memory for specs. My unit is less than a year old. I'll check my paper assembly manual and/or contact Bruce to see whether I have bad memory or if there has been a design change. If there has been a change then I can either leave it at 20dB, or, if the design change is a simple resistor mod of the feedback loop, I can change it to 12dB - buyers choice.

Sorry, no trades... This and a few other items coming soon are all about reclaiming space, and refilling the coffers.

Brad is right. The gain has always been 12dB, I have corrected the OP.  Thanks for pointing that out.

With a standard 26dB gain power amp, I set it to 11 or 12 oclock for normal listening levels.

400 is what I paid for mine and I still love it, and I use it every day.  In addition to the low level attenuator and soft start, another nice mod I made was to have the top cover powder coated in a black crinkle finish.  It really helped solve the DIY look of the device.

I hope the buyer likes it as much as I like mine.

Sorry derockster.  They do come up regularly, there are thousands of them out there. 2 just past on Agon this week.

Coating the case is a good idea, that should damp metal vibrations too. Lots of modding possibilities.

Even better than coating the top, is to remove it.
Probably some acoustic dampening on the side panels wouldn't hurt--
