Empire?  What? 

My head hurts looking at the pictures, such is the physical impact & form-following-function beauty.  The description reads more like Jules Verne sci-fi than something made by a member of an audio forum.  When & how did you get time in NASA's machine shop?  Speechless doesn't do this justice.

Is the arm overdue?

I surely must see & hear this ASAP.  Will bring my custom Ryan Thorell guitar (ETA 1 Sept).

Ok,

So a few of us, Lapsan, Edwin and I were over at Bill's yesterday listening to the new DIY Table...  First off, what a beaut she is...the only thing that has the "Empire" tag is the motor, right Bill?  Everything else is DIY from Bronze, PCB and Steel...the Project arm was nice as well!

Bill did a wonderful job on the table, the platter and the plinth!  Just looking at the bearing, it's evident that the table is built like a "Tank"!  The platter alone was 45lbs or so! 

Sound, it was dead quiet, no feedback, even with tapping the plinth and everything in between!  The music was nice, fast and well, dynamic, especially after Edwin played and recommended some VTA/Rake angle adjustment of the Blackbird cartridge!  All that and Bill's DIY preamp and phono, all from Edwins' design, was definitely amazing!!!

recently realized I had fabbed the spindle thrust plate out of white delrin not teflon.
I made a teflon button and the soundstage grew in the y axis, from floating above the floor a few feet to being all the way to the floor.
Quieter backround and more musical flow.
I can't believe how tweaky TT's are.
I love the diy rewards.

The platter is a combination of 2" thick PCV, 2" thick Aluminum plate, and 1" thick Bronze.
It is 45lbs and has a 1" tool steel spindle.

PCV or PVC?

If not a typo and it is "PCV", then what does that stand for?

Beautiful table, in design, materials and execution.

Great to be employed.

I have five basic questions for a Machinest.

1. What RPM the motor has to turn to achieve the correct platter speed for 33 1/3, and 45.

2. What would the pulley diameters have to be to achieve the correct platter speed for 33 1/3, and 45?

3. What would the platter/sub platter diameters have to be to achieve the correct platter speed for 33 1/3, and 45?

4. What would all three's combination have to be?

5. Is there a universal standard for these?
