Cherry Amplifier Demo Unit
« on: 19 Jul 2009, 02:55 pm »
Special low price on a Cherry demo.  It's in perfect shape with less than 100 hours of use.  Here's the link:
http://www.digitalamp.com/Cherry_amp2_spec_may2009.htm

It's the same link as we used for our subscriber only offer in May.  You don't need to be a newsletter subscriber to use the link now.

By the way, we are still working on a fix for our newsletter form.  Webair said they will move the site to another server, and we are waiting for that.  So, if you want to subscribe, just send me a private message.  Thanks.

No, this is NOT a Cherry PLUS.  The biggest difference is the motherboard (module based in this case).  The regular Cherry is a fantastic amp just the same!

If this is an ad, then it would make sense to include a price - ?

I can say that Tommy has treated me in the most fair and highest ethical way in our business dealings when I had unforeseen money issues.

Talk about flexibility, and bending over backwards to help me out!!

I still look forward to possession of the Cherry plus!

I know there are several envious audio-heads when we read your posts Lapsan!!

Could one get a regular aluminum faceplate for it?

Like this?

Yes, we can!

We also can make the face blank (no silkscreen)...

Where the Cherry amp fits in the lineup:

DAC4800A --- original design with LEDs and standby button on front panel
Cherry --- red faceplate, bigger transformer, LEDs inside the box (they shine through the vent holes)
Cherry PLUS --- new motherboard, improved output filter
Cherry jr --- not released yet

These are listed in chronological order, and the differences are simplified for quick reading.

A friend and I were listening to  the cd Chris Botti in Boston. I forget the song but our conversation stopped because it sounded so clear. Then a bass note and my friend looked out the window to see if there was thunder. He looked back and chuckled because it was the Apogee Cal Sigs of course. He was reading the booklet and laughing at the microphone placement description when he said "this is the clearest music I have ever heard. It sounds absolutly real." Apogees powered by my Cherry amp. Thank you very much. This is the finest amp I have ever owned.

To answer a few questions we recevied:
The unit is less than a year old.  It can ship within 3 days in its current configuration.  New motherboard will take a little longer, but is not a problem...

Hi Tommy,

Sorry I've kept the demo Cherry Plus (I'm pretty sure) unit for so long

Rest assured it's being put to good use and sounding fantastic.

We should hook up some time - I got some new spkr cables (Reality Cables) that sound superb on the bass cabinets.

If I still have it by the September Rave and you can't make it, I'd like to bring it with me - The host has given the OK for amps to visit  :thumb:

Mike,

Thanks for the post.  Let's talk offline about that particular unit...  Are you hosting a rave someday soon?

Best Regards,
Tommy

I'm doing the Oct Rave, date not set.

September is in Scotch Plains/Berkely Hts area less than 40 min from me if you want to carpool.

(You can ride in my new (used) BMW (2000 323iT)

We can take $400 MORE off the price by putting in the smaller transformer (the one used in the DAC4800A)!!!
