Why only a one year warranty?
« on: 18 Jul 2009, 11:57 am »
Dusty, I know you make your gear with excellent build quality and for reliability; so why is your warranty period only 1 year (or merely inline with box store brands)?
My interest is in amps in particular.

I compared it to say Emotiva with it 5 year transferable warranty.  Or those crazy Brystons.

If something did fail, what is a typical repair cost? (excl. shipping)  you've seen? I am not really sure what would/could fail, but if you care to expound on the one yr theory.  Besides, don't most electronic items typically fail in their first 30 days if there is a build problem?

PS -  I have an older CI DAC and PSU which are working fine :-), even a Monolithic P-3 PSU.

Don't believe everything you read. One of my D-200's took a crap and I sent it to Dusty for repairs. It came back at no cost for the repairs. The amp was three years old.
