That is good news, sometimes it is easier just to uninstall then re-install than trying to troubleshoot.

SqueezeCenter doesn't use the Windows registry.  Settings are kept within text files.

The problem sounds like it could be a transient DNS issue, where the server is unable to resolve the squeezenetwork.com.  SqueezeNetwork also seems to have had a lot of issues lately.  I think that much of the time, SqueezeNetwork just goes down completely for short periods.

Some settings may be in text files but Squeezecenter does use the registry too.

None of those entries are SqueezeCenter settings.  If you used the Windows installer you'll have those.  It's 1) standard Windows installer stuff so that you can press a button that says "uninstall", and 2) firewall entries created by the installer that open up the ports used by SqueezeCenter.
