Any USB device - thumbdrive or harddrive. Or Ethernet hard wired connection to dedicated server.
No internal hardrive

All this Bryston USB device/thumbdrive/ harddrive/ dedicated server/downloads reminds me of LINN announcing to the world the death of the CD and that they are moving on and hearing a LINN rep go on and On about how AMAZING their new Digital Stream Players are and how much LINN feels they are so much better then the CD(isnt this the same company that said the CD would die in the 80"s?) LOL......Although now yes the CD is dying and digital downloads will proably take over.......i dunno ...maybe i am just bitching to much.......but i am feeling depressed that the CD is dying .....i am 37 so yes i seen and lived the tail end of main stream LP's dying,but i seen the start and now gradually the end of main stream  CD's....i wish it wasnt so:(....but dang i feel so cold to all this USB-Thumbdrive Hype ....it gives me no warm emotional response and its as exciting to read as watching paint dry(but i keep reading it anyway lol).........i guess maybe i am feeling what some people felt when LP's died out in the main stream?...Am I alone 100% here on this?Can anyone relate?.......Its not just Bryston of course(I love and have their amps/pre and Cd Player)....its most Audiophile brands that seem to be getting into  digital downloads in some way or another.......just wish it wasnt so.....but thats Progress(?) i guess....cheers

You can use an iPod or iTouch (the new iPad looks promising as well) or a Web-brouser on the home network to access and manage your music files.

So does it have more than a single USB?  What formats will it decode or is it just a player that reads whatever format you have connected to it?  I thought I read something about a sound card earlier.

How about an external step up transformer for those of us who bought the BP26P and want to change from MM to LOMC.  A secondary benefit would be if somebody is buying a new BP26 and has a LOMC cartridge and wants to have the stereo mono/switch on the front panel they can buy the BP26P and the extrnal step-up and everybody's happy.

I am thinking 2 USB ports on the back and one on the front.. for when the friend drops over. It will be dedicated to quailty files from 44.1 to !92 Wave, AIFF and FLAC.

James, I guess this might be a drop off target and perhaps should be filed in a new thread perhaps dedicated to the music player perhaps when it gets further along, but can we have one with your answer above and any other details.  I'd find it helpful if someone could also point to software to convert files for one (when of course it gets closer to release).  I have lots of things in WMA lossless from CDs.  So I guess I'm asking if we could have a separate thread when it gets closer to release dedicated to the product and then everyone can chime in with helpful hints.
