June 20th CAS meeting in Lafayette
« on: 16 Jun 2009, 06:41 pm »
For the last three years, Teri and I have hosted a meeting at our place here in Lafayette. Every year we try to do something a little different to keep it fresh. Well, this year is no different. On Art's suggestion about resurrecting an old tradition, not only will be hosting a get together with the great food and tunes, we will bring back the annual CAS Swap Meet. Dig around in your closets, the garage, where ever you have stashed gear that has rotated out of the system, and bring 'em on to our place. Vintage, budget, tube, solid state, anything, and everything. Got an old tuner or reciever gathering dust? Clean 'em off and bring 'em here to see if one of the other members may want to snatch it up and take it home. We will provide extra tables to show off the gear, and card stock for signs.

So come to Lafayette on June 20th for the best food of any meeting, and hopefully the start of a new/old CAS tradition. Start time a little earlier then usual to allow people time to get there stuff set up, say 6ish. Earlier is fine, we'll be here.

Please RSVP to vp@coloradoaudiosociety.org for my address, and so we know how many people to expect. No limit, just wanna know how many to cook for. The more the merrier.

As the former owner of Shamrock Audio I'm curious about the Eire's still holding their own. What's your opinion?

They're great. Paired with a Manley Stingray, they are nice and balanced with good tone and texture. Nice soundstage and imaging. I got no complaints, considering they are used in a bedroom system without the best of conditions.

Hey Chris,
I already have your t-shirt stashed.  :thumb:

I was so busy preparing food, and re-arranging the canopies because of rain. I forgot to ask Teri to get out her camera to take some shots. Sorry bout that. We had a great turn out this year, with 33 members coming, and few of my friends that stopped by for a bit. I think the swap meet went well, but I have no idea how many items were sold. All the feedback I recieved was positive. We had at least 8 to 10 members come that have not been to my place in the past. People started showing up just before six, and the last left at around 11:30, so it was a long and fun day. I do not think any AC members made it this year, but I'm not sure. All three systems were well recieved, and lots of interesting coversation. I think the best thing for me was a lot of smiling faces and laughter through out the day. Let's me know people were enjoying themselves.
