BTW, the amorphous core versions are not the standard issue--they're significantly more expensive.  I have one of each, and the amorphous does measure a little better.

I've been waiting 120 days for me new preamp.

Probably longer than you will keep it.  JK

Ha.  Trying to get a color besides silver or black has been the holdup.  The unit is burning in on the bench waiting for the panels.  Probably will just pick a silver case and be done with it.

Yeah, with your HT2's you can really do a technicolor scheme or more likely :duh: a red scheme.

Actually I am wanting blue SoundScapes.  So I was trying to get a preamp and amps in something like this:

I haven't checked with RAAL this week, but the last I heard is that they were expecting amorphous core magnets to arrive in Serbia yesterday.  They need about 1 week to build our tweeters and about 4 - 5 days to air freight them to us.  I am expecting them between the 3rd and 10th of February.

Thanks. :)

Good to hear Salk is using such high quality components. :thumb:

When my HT2-TLs are delivered I expect they will be quite cold.  Is there a certain length of time  I should let them sit at room temp to warm up before playing them?

By the time you get them unpacked, put together, and set-up, you should be good.

Do you have any subjective listening impressions on the differences (if any)?

The simple answer is no.  And I don't really understand the technical issues involved. All I can say is that the amorphous core is certainly not inferior, and Jim is providing it at no extra cost.   So you can't go wrong.

OK, let's go friends and lurkers.  The "In the Queue" section is empty on the first post of this thread.  No one wants to own up to having some beautiful Salk speakers on order?  I probably just missed the posts, what with my crazy work schedule these days.

Nice review Saturn94!

I ordered some!  I even registered here just to respond to your shout-out to the lurkers  8)

I paid the deposit on the evening of March 1st, so the 2nd should probably be counted as the official enqueueing day.
