Wish a could.  An out of control exec decided today was a good day to go live on the Cisco phone system at a satellite office.  Wasn't supposed to happen until later this week and/or next week.  Right now we have a nonfunctional phone system through our entire company since everything is overloaded.

Of course, the IT department is to blame right now, my speakers are sitting in the back of my car, oh and the person who was going to help me lug them into the house can only do so before the end of the day, he does not have time after work.

I can't wait to have these home, first placement done, measurements complete, music blaring and three fingers of my favorite bourbon being swallowed.

Booya!  Can't wait to hear what you think.  Oh, and don't forget pictures!

Howdy everyone. I've been reading the forum for awhile since I decided to upgrade my music system from big box store speakers (yes I'm a newbie finally bitten by the audio bug) to something better. I really am impressed by how much everyone likes and seems to enjoy their Salk speakers, so I decided to put my toe in the water and order a pair of SongBirds.

They will be cherry with a cherry baffle for my 2 channel music-only living room. Really looking forward to seeing and hearing them. It is hard to count the days once you put in the order, but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

Anyway, glad to see so many happy Salk owners here!

Welcome to the family!  The cherry baffle is going to look awesome - can't wait to see pics of them!

The HT2-TLs don't need much help down low but having an integrated sub can help with overall speaker placement issues.  Enjoy!

Thanks Bob, it will probably come in most handy for movies.  I'm hoping that Jim and friends save the 'formula' for mixtures for dyes of previous orders for when I can afford a center channel and surrounds!

and there is the second one....

Now to run home during work, drop them off, run back to work, and impatiently wait for the end of the day.....

Hopefully you are living the dream right now!  Just a guess, from your screen name, with some of the finest Floyd you have ever heard.

Looking forward to hearing your review of them.

Well, no real experience with high quality speakers so trying to figure out what "soundstage" and "extension" mean makes my head hurt, but I'll definitely post some pictures and tell you all what my amateur ears hear.

Thanks for the welcome and I'll snap some pictures for everyone when I get them. Seeing all the pictures of the beautiful speakers in this thread made it even easier to go Salk.

So far simply amazing.  no pictures yet, as once they were all set up and initial placement was complete, it was way passed sun light time.  Also, was too busy just listening to music and kicking back with a few glasses of Woodford Reserve.

Still have issues with the right front speaker.  Because of the room, I will always have issues and need to tweak the placement as best I can.  Good thing this home is only temporary and with this economy/housing market, I can wait for one with a good layout to pop up on the market and at a good price.

Well, it looks like I'm at the final stage.  Ordered on October 20th, I received a FedEx tracking number over night.  It shows estimated pickup from Jim's yesterday and estimated delivery on the 11th - when I'm in a meeting from 7:30 to 5 PM.  However, they only received notification yesterday and Jim told me pickup would be today, so I'm hoping after they actually pick them up, estimated delivery will be shifted to Friday.  It's supposed to be mostly sunny and in the mid-60s then, and I can work at home on Friday.

Attached are a couple of pictures from Jim.  The HTC is not shown.  Speakers are burled walnut with American walnut trim.

Very nice.  That veneer looks familiar for some reason.

Siblings separated at birth.  It would be cool to see them side by side one day!

I actually purchased enough veneer for matching center and surrounds. Just waiting until I can afford those along with some more AVA gear  :D

Glad to hear you're liking your new purchase.  I look forward to seeing pics.  So what's wrong with the room near the right speaker?

ctouhey,

Wow - those are beautiful.  You're one lucky man!

Thanks, Nuance.  I think you can easily tell from the picture that they also sound just a tiny bit better than any HT3 ever made.

OKay, I thought I had it figured out, but I compared yours to other pics and don't see a difference.  I guess I am not as smart as you thought.  :)

I love the walnut colored grill, by the way.

Well, this is a first.  The FedEx driver just called to make sure someone would be at home today to sign for the speaker delivery.  He said he'd be here before Noon!

Don't be surprised to see it is not a FedEx truck.  Mine came on 2 different trucks, one a FedEx, the other an Enterprise van that FedEx rented with a FedEx driver driving it.
