So here is what you do.  Once you receive the email from Jim with the FedEx tracking number.  Save the FedEx tracking site to your favorites, which allows for quick copy of said tracking number and paste to the field on the FedEx site...in 5 seconds you will have the updated status of your shipment.

Then the thrill on the day you read "Out For Delivery"   :D

Congrats, polarbare!  What a system you will have.  What veneer did you chose?

It was actually your "journey thread" over on the AVS forum that got me interested in these  :D I decided to go with a traditional finish - curly American cherry, but with a heavier curl like the one on K Shep's old song towers, but with a slight redissh, orangish, brownish dye like the color seen with the American cherry on the salk website here - http://www.salksound.com/speakers_veracity_ht2-tl_images.shtml. At least I hope the color is like that, never quite sure how peoples monitors are different in their displaying of colors. I almost went with the bubinga finish, and although they are beautiful, they are a little too "dramatic" for my tastes.

One thing though, I might make some plinths out of black galaxy granite - my (ex) brother in law is in that industry and has the equipment to cut/shape it, just to make them that tad bit more custom.

That's great news, stew!

Good choice in veneer, polarbare.  I am sure that photos won't do them justice.  I look forward to both yours and stew's impressions and pics!

I finally got my GIK 244 panels up on the ceiling/wall corner.  I also put two Monster Bass Traps behind the TV and added a Table Trap next to my seat so I have somewhere to put remotes and a glass of wine.  Now if I could only settle on where I want to locate the speakers...   :green:

What's wrong with the location of the speakers, Bob?  Or did I miss a joke?  :)

Everything looks superb buddy!  I love the custom printed panels.  Once I get a home I'll be purchasing those tri-corner traps, just like you.  They really help remove bass ringing.

I just tinker too much.  ; )  At this location they have great soundstage, good imaging & good bass (maybe a touch too much) but the vocals are just a tad off.  I'll probably move them in a little more to smooth out the bass a little and help the vocals.  Further into the room helps take the TV out of play as well.  I have some other tricks for the TV and I hope to have everything in place by March 6th for the GTG.  I still have some GIK diffusers and may put them on the ceiling.  Some 242s might actually look better than the diffusers though...

I am going to lend Bob my measuring gear.  Perhaps that will help with his speaker placement.

Very cool. guys.  Measurements will tell a lot.

Just out of curiosity, and since you have room to play, are you following the 38% rule, Bob?  Supposedly the listening position should be around 38% from the front (not likely) or back wall (more plausible).  This helps reduce room modes.  Unfortunately I am closer to 45%, but oh well.  There is a support pole in my way, so I cannot move the LP back any.  But since you like to tinker (as do I) maybe you could try it and offer an opinion?  Maybe this will snap everything in place for you, I dunno.

Yep, I know that one.   Like you though, it didn't work for me.  ; )

Bummer.  Oh well - not everything in this hobby is practical, right?  :)  I like how your setup is now, though.  I bet it measures pretty well.  I guess you'll find out soon.

Shoot me a PM if you want help with REW.  I'll give you my cell #, or you can get it from Kirk.

Hi Bob,

The new panels look great!!! Your room sounded fantastic when I heard it a while back, and I'm sure that it sounds even better now - which is almost hard to imagine. :) I am thinking of getting some bass traps too... any comments on how the table trap is working? I have been pondering the tower trap for the corner, but it's much more $$ than the standard corner trap so I wanted an opinion first.

Ah yes... and my HT1-TLs arrived last Wed!! I have not posted anything about them yet including photos, only because I have been listening to them constantly (no joke!) and haven't taken a break to write about them yet. I will start a new thread at some point with photos and my impressions soon I hope.

Looking forward to meeting up at your place..

I think Randy has enough stuff to start his own retail outlet for 6 or 7 brands.

He really does. A nice mellow guy too.
