Guys

Generally what is the average waiting time from placing orders to delivery?

I have just paid my deposit with Jim on SongTower and SongCenter and are waiting for his reply and confirmation.

The first page of this thread will give you an idea on how long you may have to wait.  What will you do to get ready for your SongTowers?

ralfale -

Its going to vary. Did you order standard veneer items (cherry, walnut, etc.)? I believe for the SongTower series he does production runs (maybe a few pairs at a time) of the standard veneer to get them out quicker. I paid in June got mine in October, but I ordered quite a bit and was overseas most of that time, so I'm not really a good gauge. At the beginning of this thread vintagebob has a post that shows what people ordered, when, and when they received it, might help give you an idea. Of course you can call up Jim and he will usually tell you a ballpark number (45, 60, 90 whatever days).

Well, we are working toward being able to finish standard pairs of SongTowers in 30 days.  We're getting close.

Since your speakers will be satin black, it is entirely possible we can have them finished in time for the holidays.

Of course, we are presently looking at 58 days of transit time to Singapore via sea freight.  Now, if you would care to switch to air freight, you may not have a Silent Night after all.

it is good to see that I'm not the last on the waiting list (WntrMute2).  Since I've seen both the raw boxes as well as my beautiful veneer I'm waiting with baited breath for my beauties to be done.

That's Jim's foot BTW.

This is good news Jim!
I am presently looking at using another fedex account of a friend of mine. Hopefully that will work out as he enjoys greater discount on his account.
I might still make it for xmas :)

WntrMute2,
Nice veneer!  Those are going to be some nice looking HT2-TLs!  Can't wait to see them (and to get your listening impressions, of course).

Mine arrived yesterday, but by the time I got them assembled it was 11p.  I will post more thoughts later as I have not really been able to get them turned up, nor integrated at all with my sub, etc.  I will say that no matter how many times people say that their photos do not do the finish justice, you will never quite grasp how true that statement is until you unpack your own STs.  Really stunning.  Will try to post some pics anyway and provide more thoughts later.

My anticipation increases!  Jim said they should be finishing up this week.  I was thinking it would be January, so this is great news.  Now I'm starting to think of what I'll be listening to first.  So far:

SACD's of Yes - Fragile, Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
CD's: Donald Fagen, Beatles Remastered
BluRay: Master and Commander, new Star Trek

Good music choices.  You'll have to let us know how the SACDs sound on your 5.1 setup.  I suspect you'll be very happy!
And, of course, please share your listening impressions/photos with us when you manage to pull yourself away from the Salks for a breather.

1/4"-20.  I purchased a pair of adjustable spikes for my STs.  Jim confirmed the size a few months ago.

Are the standard spikes not adjustable? My floor's a little bit uneven--do the standard spikes adjust at least a 1/4 inch or not at all?

Not a problem, though a jamb nut or two may be in order if you go much beyond that.

Ok. Cool. I wouldn't want to lose the styling of Jim's speaker feet just because my floor is slightly wonky. I may ask Jim if he can send along some jamb nuts if he thinks I'll need them.

Happy Thanksgiving!  :D
