The 240/3 should play nicely with the HT2-TL's. I talked to Frank about it when I was putting together my order for the TL's. He said they are a pretty easy load and a double 240 would work fine.

I don't know what you're using for an amp right now but I was really surprised at how good the Double 240/3 sounds.  My Pioneer SC-05 was noticeably better than my old Onkyo but the AVA is in another league.  Noticeably better clarity and bass.  String instruments and vocals were improved an entire notch.  Whatever a notch is...

I can't imagine what this amp will be like with HT2-TLs on the other end!  :o

UPDATE

I've made it past 30 days...AGAIN.  No restarting the clock this time though.

I'm running out of stuff to do. I have been trying new locations with my sub and even tried a second sub for awhile but I always end with the Epik Phoenix back behind the couch.

Some of you guys must be getting close!  mathgeek97, ChicagoSparty, ardee?  What are you doing on the final lap?  ardee, I want a home theater update!

I still laugh that mchuckp gave me the finger because I ordered my Salks first but now he sits there listening to his RTs while I'm still here waiting.   :P

Jim,  post some pictures of my babies being built!   :green:

I'm at about day 60, so I think I should be getting close.  My STRTs have a few one-off type characteristics, so I expected they would take longer than a more standard pair of STs.  I sold my old speakers this weekend, so my living room is feeling a bit naked.  Luckily I am out of town this weekend and work has been keeping me late, so I am not missing too many opportunities to really sit down and listen.

Yikes!  Selling your old speakers now seems kind of drastic ; )  I hope your STRTs arrive SOON!

:D Tell me about it.  I used them for everything, including TV, so it has been tough (Don't worry, I realize how ludicris it is to be complaining about something that is so trivial in the scheme of things).  Watching my first blu-ray without them on Sunday night was a rude awakening.

Yeah, mchuckp ordered his STs the same day I ordered my HT2-TLs.  I am getting antsy!
I did grab some new music lately.  I just had to get the SACD of Pink Floyd's DSotM, because I've always, up to this point, judged any new component by how that album sounds.  If the DSD stereo mix is too weird I've always got a backup version ripped into iTunes.  I also grabbed SMV - Thunder which was mentioned in another thread where Dennis was looking for good bass demos.  I played it on my Klipsch computer speakers and had a good chuckle.  I soooooooo need some real speakers. :)

Care to share what the one-off mods are?  If you want to save it and surprise us, that's cool too.  :)

Guys, you're soooooooooo close; it's almost S-day (Salk day lol).  The wait is worth it, and I am getting just excited for you guys as I was when my own speakers were ready to arrive.  I can't wait to see your pics and get your impressions!   8)

For me its only been since July 21st  :(  Staying busy making bass traps and absorption panels, waiting on the tri-traps from GIK along with the matching GOM fabric to cover the panels. Will run the dedicated 20 amp circuit in between all this. So for now, staying busy! Will be ordering speaker and interconnect cables this week. Ordered loveseat Friday.

Goal is to have everything in place where all I have to do is hook up the cables that will be lying on the floor next to where the HT2-TL's go initially and start tweaking things and enjoying!

Sounds like you're becoming an acoustics expert.  ; )

I'm still waiting on the rest of my GIK panels.  Another week or so yet.  I had some pics put on some of the 242 panels and that takes about 3 weeks or so.  I hope they turn out OK.  :?

Hang in there jazzcat1!

Now that I think about it, I guess there is only one one-off feature, but a few other modifications.  My STs will be pau ferro with a ribbon tweeter, and the baffle will be flat and veneered (no aluminum baffle).  I think nyc_paramedic had Jim do the same thing with his ziricote ht2-tls.  I am pretty excited to see how they turn out.

Obviously, we are here because we wanted individually-built custom Salk Signature Sound speakers.  We could have settled for speakers from a brick-and-mortar, or even another manufacturer-direct speaker company, but we wanted more, and after considerable research and after consultation with Salk Signature Sound's designers, builder, and other owners, we each placed our order for custom speakers (some of us more than once).  While we were/are eager to receive our speakers, we welcome the time that Jim and his crew painstakingly build our custom speakers, because we know that great care is given to every step of the process to ensure that the speakers are built to the very high standard that Jim requires and that we anticipate.

I was certainly eager to receive my Salk speakers, as is every prospective Salk owner, but let us make sure that other prospective owners know that the production time is very reasonable, the speakers are shipped when promised, and also let us acknowledge Jim's dedication to his customers and the numerous contributions of Dennis, Paul, Jeff, and others.

I thank Dave Ellis (and Frank Van Alstine and Wayner) for referring me to Jim.  I was extremely fortunate to have learned about Salk Signature Sound.

Let's keep getting the word out there.

Well said OITP.  I waited almost 4 months for my HT3's.  But the wait was well worth it.  I'm extremely pleased with how my HT3's look and sound.

Well, I'm still at least a month out, but I talked to Jim yesterday and as far as my ST 5.1 setup goes, he's made great progress. I think he said they were ready for topcoat. My sub got the green light from Brian and Jeff, so I believe he will start on that in the next day or so. And the HT3's FedEx damaged require a new cabinet, so that is in the queue as well. I have 35 days till I'm stateside, so I'm sure many of the guys ahead of me are really close to S-Day. The date of the email for my invoice/deposit is June 27.

I haven't really done much of anything to get ready, because I can't. I made a list of Telarc CD's to get in Amazon, which I'll order soon. Frank at AVA said my order (double 440, double 240/3, Insight EC pre and Insight DAC) would probly ship this week. I will have the wife on standby.  :D

I had GIK cover the tri-traps with the same fabric I will cover the panels with. All similar fabric should enhance the overall soundstage  Haven't heard when everything will ship. Can't place the reflection point panels until speakers get here but I will put up all the bass traps and the ones behind the speakers. There are so many formulas and opinions as to how far to place the speakers from the front and side walls! I think I may just let my ears decide! Bryan and crew at GIK are really great with advice and assistance.

Been adding onto my CD/SACD/DVD-A selection based on adydula's Demo CD thread too. A lot to keep busy!

Be sure to post pics of your panels when they arrive.  8)

Great post oneinthepipe.  I also like the fact that we are supporting some of America's small businesses by buying from Jim & Frank.  I'm an Air Force Reserve officer so I might be a bit biased about buying American.   :green:
