I've uploaded a few pics to my gallery.  The veneer is straight walnut in espresso.  I wanted a contrast to my bright walls/carpet and to match my TV stand.  I was concerned the grain wouldn't show, but it does quite nicely.

It took 75 days for delivery because walnut is a deep grain which requires several applications to fill completely.  And once cabinets were about ready Madisound (the Seas supplier) notified Salk they were out of the W15 drivers, so we had to wait on an overseas shipment to arrive.

Congratulations!  Beautiful finish.  I'm sure even more so in person.  There has been a wait for drivers for the SS8's as well.  My strategy for dealing with the wait time is to start researching preamps to get my mind off the speakers!   :thumb:

On the delivery truck right now!! counting the minutes until i can go pick them up... I think the wife is becoming somewhat annoyed by my constant Fed Ex updates... oh well :)

That's great news...er, the part about the speakers, not the wife being annoyed. :)

I ordered supercharged song towers in standard dark curly cherry. I placed the order on 8/29/12.  I'm really looking forward to them.  I'm also developing a love hate relationship with the project tracking system. It's nice to be able to see the status and not have to bug Jim about where my speakers are, but on the other hand, I really don't like looking up the status and not seeing it move faster!!   :banghead:

Hey - I just noticed - I'm not "in the queue..."

benguin

Thought it was time to join in now that my order is in!  I am so glad that I found SalkSound when starting my speaker search, then fate came through with a trip that took us through Michigan where we had the chance to stop in for a very convincing tour and audition.

We were planning on  Supercharged SongTowers or possibly HT2's, but after hearing them we now have some SoundScape 8's underway, with a SSC, a set of SongSurround I's, and 18" Salk/Rythmik for sub duty.

Things to do while we wait:  work on completion for the basement renovation!  I had been holding off on some of the work waiting to see what we'd have for a system.  I think Jim and crew will be done before I am though!

Benguin, that is some serious bass you got there. Did you opt for dual oppose radiator or just a regular seal sub. Anyway, welcome to Salk family. Please,  keep us inform once you got everything dial in. Post some pictures while you are at it.

I ordered super charged ST yesterday, Jim said a customer changed his mind and ordered something else so when I emailed him asking for a price on Songtowers he said he had supercharged ones in Bubinga and offered them at regular price  ...never heard of that veneer before although I thought it looked very nice and think I'm gonna be quite pleased when I see them...while I wait.... well I am out of town working for the next month and half and the speakers will be shipped this week sometime so it will be driving me crazy knowing they are home  and Im away....I hope this will be the last speaker I buy

Congrats on the Bubinga.  I'm jealous of the timing!!  Had an offer like that been available a couple of weeks ago when I ordered mine, like you, I would have jumped all over it. Not sure if it would have matched my cherry TV audio cabinet, though.  Too bad you are out of town for that long.  I'd hate to think of my new speakers sitting there waiting in their box!!
