Bigload -

Your order seems oddly familiar....

You are going to love them. Well worth the wait.

Bigload, I suspect you will like the HT2-TLs a lot.  I debated for a long time before I finally settled on ordering the SongTowers.

For me, it came down to budget, and better dispersion from the dome tweeters in the SongTowers since they are going in the living room.  And, they should be a big step up from my existing Boston Acoustics T830s.

I just received two F15s with 600 watt amps direct from Rythmik, so I can't hardly wait for the SongTowers to be shipped.  The black oak Rythmiks don't have the beautiful Salk finish but I wanted some good bass slam for movies as well as high quality bass for music in my large combo room and again, it came down to budget.

Bob,

Look on the previous page at posts 661 & 664.  I haven't had a chance to photograph the HT3s yet (just the Center); I'm still waiting to get some help to put the spikes on.  They're flat on the floor at the moment but sound incredible.  It really is true that you rediscover music and find yourself listening more than ever.  I'm sure I'll get a chance to shoot some pictures in the next few weeks and get them posted.

One of the guys in the office loaned us the Blu Ray box of “Band of Brothers”, which we had never seen.  (First time to watch a Blu Ray on the new system.)  We watched Episodes #1 and #2 last night, and it was amazing how easy it was to even localize the bullets passing by.  I wanted to hit the ground!  The HT3s/HTC do an amazing job with cinema also.

Chris

Hey ctouhey,

Thanks for the feedback.  Good to hear that you are enjoying your HT3s!   :thumb:

Sometimes I wonder if I went overboard!  I can't really find a single fault in the SongTowers.  I am listening to them as I type and they are soooo good.  But I fell victim to all of the reviews and testimonies on the HT2TL's for 2 channel.  And then thought the Songs would be great for HT and multichannel music too.  So... If I had never read all of the reviews and had only heard the SongTowers, I would have thought this was about as good as it could get (within reason).  Done deal now.  I am looking forward to getting them all working.

Unfortunately, I've got a bit of a delay in making the rack - have to wait for some wetsanding equipment to come in.

Hey, how about some feedback from you guys.  ; )

darwin (Ordered Jan 25th, delivered Mar 5th) Surround IIs RT (x4), SongCenter RT and Song Sub (x2)

Sorry, I have been very lax in my duties around here. :green: My girlfriend was so impressed by my speakers (I let her pick the finish) that she decided to marry me. So, I had to go buy an engagement ring, sacrifice all my closet space to the girl gods, etc., etc., etc., and I haven't had time to do an update.

I love my speakers and much prefer them to my Maggies. My fiancee does too, as the SSII RTs don't dominate the room and the room doesn't have to be arranged around the speakers. Anyone looking to buy some Maggie 3.6Rs, 1.6QRs, and CC3? :green:

Just been trying to bust out this rack before the Salks get in - making progress, but it won't be finished.

The wood part of each shelf is 1/2" cherry plywood with 1/2" solid cherry edge, and the top half is 1/2" black galaxy granite. The last pic is after using a router with a flush mount trim bit and subsequent sanding by hand (still have six more shelves to do for the TV stand). Each shelf is about 19 lbs.

I still have to grind/polish the edges of the tile, stain the cherry, and mount the tile to the wood part of each shelf. Definitely not happening by Tuesday (especially since the equipment to polish the granite won't be in until Wed. or Thurs.!)  :green:

I just had to make a comment here about Jim Salk's commitment to quality.

I have had a pair of SongTowers and a front ported SongCenter on order for about a couple of months.  Jim has a shelf from my entertainment center so he can match the finish.

Although the speakers were nearly ready to ship, Jim told me today that he was not happy with the resulting finish.  Rather than trying to pass it off as "good enough", he suggested that we start over with new cabinets.  I heartily agreed.

My wife and I may have to wait a few more weeks but that is a small price to pay indeed.

Jim's commitment to quality and customer service is absolutely second to none.

Tony

So, I officially put in my order for a pair of Soundscape 10's on Sunday night.  My first Salk purchase and I'm very excited! Thanks to everyone who helped in my research.  I really appreciate it.

This is going to be a long wait...

What veneer did you choose? I placed an order also but cant decide on the veneer, has to be dark (my wife loves espresso color) but too dark and might as well be black as you cant see anything but the darkness.

yep...  We ended up going with a swirl mahogany.  Are you coming from Salk speakers or something else?

Paradigm S6v2. I made the misfortune of hearing the ht4s at a GTG or I would be happy where I am at right now.

Wow, that's wonderful.  Many congrats on your order, and JRG's.  You guys get a triple scoop of my very specially adopted Salk forum emoticon....

Was your misfortune visited upon you in Oregon, by chance?   :D
