Well I finally got to hear some Salk's this past weekend at a NY Rave. Yes, they are beautifully made and have a high WAF, as everyone here knows and often posts about. But I am glad to say that they truly made sweet music also. That's not a given with many speaker brands and models.

These speakers really sounded quite good, in differnet ways, but both were excellent and I enjoyed them immensely. You guys on the Salk circle should really talk more often about how nice these speakers sound. There's a lot of people who think they are just good lookers and that's not their only merit at all. I understand the fan-boy attitude and these speakers surely deserve it, but I think it has turned off some people and that's just a shame. These speakers deserve more attentiion, not less ... for the way they sound.

Oh, and did I say that they looked really good too?

Just saw that you have my speakers down as delivered on Oct. 20.  Jim actually had to start them over because of some veneer issues.  The second set is almost finished, so I hope to have them in the next two weeks.  I will certainly follow up with pics and my thoughts once they arrive.

Bummer!  I'm sorry to hear that.  I'll update the front page.  Hang in there, they are worth it.

VintageBob, please add me to the list (a little late), ordered Songtowers and Songcenter in curly walnut on sept 17th and received email from Jim Friday Nov 6th that they were getting their last top coat and would be assembled today or tomorrow (if no problems with the top coat) and should be ready to ship Wednesday or Thursday.  So hopefully sometime next week I'll be listening to some new speakers.

Yes, the curly walnut is excellent. I love my pair, and they look really good in person (not that they didn't in the photos). I'm also a big fan of the cherry veneer I saw at Swerd's, Jim's standard veneers are very good.

Guys

Generally what is the average waiting time from placing orders to delivery?

I have just paid my deposit with Jim on SongTower and SongCenter and are waiting for his reply and confirmation.
