i'll put in a vote for 'veracity ht4'. the salk ht line is already known as a well-respected and well-known line.  you'll have the instant reputation of your brand name and flagship line.  no disrespect to any ideas or other speaker manufacturers but i feel like there are already enough speakers named after audiophile/music pathos/pinnacle cliches.

Ditto.

Unless you're contemplating a large lineup of new state of the art models, you dilute your already small company footprint by trying to promote another new name

Jim ... for a damping plate between the upper and lower cabinets you might investigate this:

http://www.sounddeadsteel.com/videos/vibration.html

The company makes sound deadening steel laminates that I've found extremely effective, and, they make custom sized/designed products for quite a few applications.

Bruce - can these be bought in the states somewhere?  Have you tried it under components?

I had them shipped from overseas.  Can't remember where I read a review recommending them ... vaguely recall Positive Feedback, or some other online magazine.

I have used them under components, between a center channel speaker and the stand it sits on, and as dampers on top of components (with weights on top of the plates).

I have experienced zero negative effects, and generally pretty positive outcomes.

Basic science that works.  If you call they'll send data backing up their claims and approach.

Salk Rapids

[This is a sound-alike play on "Sauk Rapids" in Minnesota.  Sauk Rapids is near St. Cloud where both Jim Salk and I have roots.]

I guess he already does have the Salk "Centre" in a couple of speaker lines. I lived just up the road from there in Long Prairie for a while.

This new speaker has been reported to be a no holds barred leap forward and it deserves a new series name.

I fully expect that you'll want to continue to develop your HT line with future improvements.

Salk "Waiting List" sounds appropriate considering the cabinet complexity and finish appearance.  Congratulations Jim and Dennis.   Can I assume we will hear these are RMAF 09?

Thanks.

As for RMAF, I am not sure.  The rooms are a bit small.  But perhaps the 10" woofer version would be appropriate.  Time will tell.

How about "The Salk Fat Ladies"?  You know, it's all over once you've heard "The Fat Ladies" sing...

I'm gonna suggest "Dream of Gerontius" or just Gerontius.
It is a name with a lot of "weight" and it is the one I thought of after reading what this speaker can do.
Besides all drivers appear now to be out of the ordinary, so ...
Dream of Gerontius is a Poem written a long time ago, it's about what new life there is to be had
"after this" ...
Elgar wrote an oratorium for it ca 1900, opus 38 by the way.
It is about a soul traveling after death, where does it end up?
So I thought one could think of this as the soul of the music, where does it travel (by the means of this speaker...  :D )
It was alive, then recorded and made to sleep... then it enters the "dream of Gerontius" and get's new life!
Ah! I know, very deep stuff this, but as I understand it, the speaker is well equipped to go deep as well!

I like the suggestion "Triton".

Of course if the name "Transcendence" is picked i will have to sue Jim for a free pair of them.  :)

Salk Triton.

Salk Cerberus.

It's divine, it's classic, has three heads, and barks like a dog. :)

My wife was looking over my shoulder the other day and saw the pictures of the HT4. She said it looked "all lumpy."

So, the Salk Lumpspeaker.
