The only diff with the N1X Vs the N2X is the ported Vs non right?

I've always stayed away from ported speakers b/c of the port noise. I'll give yours a try though. How long is the demo? I just call you with C.C?

The N1X uses the smaller M-130X woofer. The 2" flared port won't allow much port noise.

You'll get a good idea for how the N2X sounds as well as they have a very similar sound.

This is my first impression of the N2X I received yesterday for demo...

AWESOME!!!

I have not been able to get a lot of time on it, but here goes:

1. Work System: [Project Xpression3 Turntable and McIntosh MA 5100 Receiver (Refurbed)]
The key thing I noticed is all of the extra nuance I am noticing in recordings. In Fleetwood Mac's 1975 self-titled album, there was simply a lot of additional instrument activity that I had not noticed before. Eric Clapton's Crossroads (disk six) was especially enjoyable. The voice of Eric was very clear and sounded more "there" than I have noticed in the past. All recordings sounded less like a recording and more like being in the same room as the musicians.

2. Home System: [Peachtree Nova and a cheap Pioneer DVD player using coax 1] The album that these speakers MUST be demoed with is Roger Water's Amused to death. This is the one time I have been able to discern what the soldier is saying in Balland For Bill Hubbard. Normally, there are periods where I have difficulty making out what was being said, but I did not even have to strain this time. I could even make it out while I was in another room doing laundry! The spatial effects in this Q-Sound recording were the best I have heard.

More as I get to listening more seriously.

I signed on for the tour...should be fun to actually hear real quality speakers-as a fellow AC'er told me....I've been listening to JBL's since I was 16 about time I heard something else for a change. I'm stoked!!!

You're in for a real treat. I've had the N1X's and have been impressed since day 1.

I have the DIY bug, I'm either gonna retrofit some JBL-L20T's with a XLS Encore kit Danny is soon to be offering or go with N2X's in some curved Cherry PE cabinets. I want to hear what up to date technology sounds like with my TWO.2 and some tubes thrown in....

(Chicago, IL). But my wife might look like this if she sees more audio gear in the apt

Stilll waiting for a chance to demo? If it ever comes to the south Florida area? I would like the chance to listen before I purchase! The N3s are out since my wife relegated my speakers to the computer room and anything larger then a bookshelf would be overkill as well as boomy!
