On the Fremer video, he uses Wally Tools skating device. Anybody have experience with it?

Well, stylus looks bent or crooked out of the assembly. send it back to LPGear or Audio Technica. I have 6 cartridges and 12 stylus assemblies right now, and have never seen anything like this ever. Have you had the stylus off? They are not real easy to re-install.

No, I never took the stylus off.  That didn't cross my mind at the time.

Thanks guys, this is a big relief that everyone thinks it is not normal or within a tolerable range.  LP Gear just sent me a tracking number for the exchange cartridge which should arrive Friday.  They promised to have the replacement triple checked for alignment before sending.  They have been great to deal with so far.

Thanks again,
Ken

Goody! I hate recommending things and then it turns to shit. Anyway, the Fixx is on the way and I think you will be pleased. You should be able to mount the AT on the headshell without taking the stylus off. For a first timer, putting it back in can be a bitch. You have to put it in backwards of the way you took it out....aa..... and it snaps hard at the end.......aa.......God, that sounds aweful. But that's how it's done. Best to leave it there if you don't have to take it off.

I also have at least 1/2 dozen replacement stylus in the house. That is the restocking level, too. Keep the faith. Oh yea, keep the stylus guard over the stylus during mounting to keep unhappy things from occuring.
