CD-PRO2M transport/CD player
$595
This is a great sounding top-loading transport. Uses the top-of-the line Philips Pro2M transport mechanism, also used in many >$5K transports. Case looks a lot like the Burmeister. See comments in the NY rave circle, such as:
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=15366.10IMS, it easily beat Empirical Audio and Modwright modded Sonys, a RAM-modded unit and a Micromega. The DAC is decent, but this really shines as a transport.
It has the upgraded pulse transformers and magnetic aluminum CD clamp, some cap swaps and the DAC. It has RCA and XLR digital outs and RCA analog outs. The XLR analog outs are installed but aren't connected (as are the feet, as I used after-market footers). At my asking price I'll include a Marigo Crossbow which I found to improve the sound and insure a better clamp contact. Total parts cost (not including assembly) was approx $1050.
The first owner had it professionally assembled and some minor cap swaps and wiring were done by K & K Audio. Also has silk-screening on the front for play, stop, logo, etc (see actual pic at :
