Excellent deal... I think. I'm not very familiar with most of the albums offered at $3.50 but I listened to many of the clips and I liked what I heard. I ordered 10 disks. :D

Maybe this should be listed in the Music Circle.

Hey knowtalent, thanks for spreading the word on this! I finally received my order last night and am listening to some amazing sounds this morning. Here's what I got:

Madrigale - Aldo Clementi
Early Piano Works - Morton Feldman
Background Music - Gregorio, Gustafsson
Labrynth - Lou Harrison
Barcelona Series - Sven-Ake Johansson
The Roots of the Moment - Pauline Oliveros
Polwechsel 2 - Polwechsel
Four Works for Piano - Dane Rudhyar
Music for Violin & Piano - James Tenney
Where The Sky Ended - Richard Grossman
Solos & Duos - Rajesh Mehta

p.s. If it wasn't for Amazon's listening samples, I don't know what I would have bought. The samples on jazzloft were weak. Otherwise, I love jazzloft! ;-)

So what did you buy?

p.s. What's a 381?

p.p.s. I'm in preview mode, listening to 15-20 minutes of each disc to get a feel for the collection, listen through a Cambridge Audio 640C, NAD 325BEE, Klipsch Forte II, and all Kimber wire.

p.p.p.s. Man, these hat discs are nicely recorded!

I don't see a sale anymore on their site. Must have been pulled.

I'll second that. :thumb: This was a great deal on very finely engineered CDs. I wasn't familiar with most of the artists available in the sale so my choices were somewhat of a risk. Many of the disks I ordered were advant garde and  free jazz so I was pleasantly surprised that I liked most my selections. A side benefit was being introduced to some artists that I might have never discovered otherwise. I now have developed an interest in free jazz. :)

They're now selling ECM Touchstone series recordings for $9.99   (a lot of Ralph Towner/John Ambercrombie stuff)

KnowTalent,

Thanks a lot for posting the Hatology sale. :thumb: I'll have keep an eye on the JazzLoft which, incidentally, is located in my neck of the woods. Next time I'm over in that area I'll visit the store (I think that they have brick and mortar ).

If you're developing a taste for advant garde/free jazz the following recommendations straddle the fence between structure and free improvisation - favoring structure!!!
Prophet Moon is the one that put the hook in me 8)

Joe Morris - Age of Everything
William Parker Quartet - Petit Oiseau
Whit Dickey/Trio Ahxolohxa - Prophet Moon
David S. Ware - Corridors & Parallels

...all are quite good as these cats have all jammed together over the years
Buy from AUM Fidelity/Riti Records website and help support specialty labels and the wonderful artists they promote!

The other "must own" recommendation is Ornette Coleman's Atlantic Recordings box set :thumb:
