Actually there is one guy with them on youtube.I hope my system sounds better than it is through the internet.Of course it's comming through my PC speakers so I hope it's much fuller than what I've heard on youtube.

Thanks for the link.  It is a great review. What I want to read is a review between the squared and non-squared version.

Same here - I started a thread asking about this but no news so far.

I have gone ST to SST with 3,4,7 series.

Just cosidering some SST2's.

There is clear design changes between the SST and SST2.

Andy.

I agree.  Why non SQ amps cannot upgraded to the SQ series?

New power supply transformer design
New push on/off power switch
New chassis design
New Soft-Start circuit
New Balanced input stage
New Power Supply board
Bridging mode performance improvement
Reduced point to point wiring
Reduced circuit board count
Redesigned output chokes

If I were to place a guess I would say it's not so much of a matter of can't as apposed to cost and time to do so.
I would imagine that new transformer would be a large part of the cost no doubt about it.
Just my guess...I sure James will give us the the answer.

James,

I thought there was going to be a feature 7B SST2 review in the October issue, not true?  I heard one of the other reviewers heard the review taking place and was so impressed he asked to do a follow up.

Yes that was the original plan but I have been told that the review on the BDA-1 will appear first and then the 14B and then the 7B's.

Were you asking if it was possble to upgrade the SST to SST2?

If so that list of changes is really a totaly new amplifier....

So I dont believe the option to upgrade could exist.
