New RM-C4 Preamp: Tubes as regulators ....
« on: 29 Mar 2009, 10:28 pm »
I notice that with the new C4 preamp, Roger is now using various tubes as regulators rather than solid-state. Given all the thought he puts into parts selection, anyone know why OA2 tubes (and some WE variants) are now being used rather than solid-state?

Gas regulators are simple to apply and work well in certain circuits like the C-4. I'm not stuck to one particular way of doing things. BTW the WE tubes are the signal tubes and very nice.
