Does anyone have experience with ferrite donuts/bars etc. to deal with RFI/EMI noise on cables in an audio setting? I see them on every computer cable of high quality, making me think that this one is not one of those gimmicks. And they are very cheap as well. The customer testimonials, regardless of who the manufacturers is, are always positive. Would love to know your experience with them. Thank you.

Hi Shafie

Getting back to your phono setup, how do you like the Pro-Ject 2 Xperience, I'm fairly happy with the Rega P3/2000 Sumiko BP2 MC but I've had my eye on the Pro-ject or even maybe the Michell GyroDec.

Hi Robert;

The only other table that I have had was the Rega P1. The 2Xperience is much more refined esp. with the Ortofon 2M Black. The 9c tonearm that it comes with has adjustable VTA and Azimuth, which I like. Afterall, tweaking your own equipment is half the fun. The RB300 tonearm does not allow for adjustments. I can't really compare this TT with any other because I have not listened to them. The RPM line in the Pro-Ject series, with a heavy/thick plinth, has fantastic reviews and is slightly more expensive than the 2Xperience. The one thing that bugs me about the 2Xperience is that the motor/pulley system (band around the periphery of the plinth), jitters and the band vibrates. The entire drive system is suspended, so it does not interfere with the sound that is reproduced. The problem is if you listen to music at low volumes with the cover open, you can hear the rattle of the band/motor. The Gyro is a fine piece of machinary. In fact, that was my first choice, but it was too expensive for my budget.

Hope this helps with your decision.
