Need some help on a school project!!!

I've found some conflicting information on my speaker box dimensions and need someone to input their opinion. Here are the parameters for my M130 woofer:

Resonance frequency-fs   53.0095 Hz                      V-C resistance-Re   5.7 Ohm
Cone Mass-Mmd   6.6331 grams                              V-C inductance-Le   0.3127 m*H
Dynamic mass-Mms   7.1655 grams                         Force factor-Bl   5.5019 T*m
compliance-Cms   1.258 mm/N                                Mechanical Q-Qms   2.4715
Mec. resistance-Rms   0.9656 kg/s                          Eletrical Q-Qes   0.4494
Equivalent volume-Vas   16.1225 liter                      Total Q-Qts   0.3803
Linear excursion-Xmax   3.0 mm                              Reference efficiency-no   0.5183%
Effective cone area-Sd   95 sq cm                          Efficiency-SPL   89.1454 dB-1W/1m
                                                                        Sensitivity-SPL   90.6176 dB-2.83V/1m

Welcome to Audiocircle! :thumb:
What figures are you coming up with?  On the GR-Research website (your M130 comes from there) it recommends .4 cubic feet.  You can go a bit larger if you want, but I wouldn't take it beyond .5 cubic feet. Also if you look close at that site, you can find box plans.
I also recall that Dennis Murphy used that driver in one of his designs.  You might want to look at murphyblaster.com at his MBOW1 design.

Using the numbers that you gave me, I plugged it into Winisd program at http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?download=winisd and found a recommended port.   Pick "New", then "own drivers", give it a name (GR-Research M130), and type in the parameters.  It will recommend a box and a port size.  The only thing that I didn't see in your Theil/Small parameters was the Z value.  I'd use 8 ohms. The others that you don't have aren't necessary for the program to work.

If after trying that, let us know if you still have problems.   :thumb:

I forgot to mention, if you are using one M130 per box, you really don't need a gigantic diameter port.  2" PVC pipe should work fine.  When calculating the port, type in 2" in diameter and it should give you a length.

We've tried to put our parameters in that program but it wont let us save the info.

Ok, you are doing something wrong obviously.  Let's try again.  When you open, go to file, then new project, select own drivers and click new, Driver Editor comes up.  If it shows a name, then hit "new" at the bottom, if not simply name your driver.  Then type in the T/S parameters. Select OK. Go back file and select New project again.  This time your driver should come up when you select Own drivers. If not, scroll down on the down arrow next to "new".  It should be there.  Select your driver and hit next.  It will ask driver usage. Pick 1 and normal and hit next.  It will suggest a box type, (it should say vented). Then hit Finish. It will then go to a new screen and you can select driver, box , vent, Plot, or project. The box will give you a recommended box size (internal space-don't forget to figure in the thickness of your lumber), the vent will let you play with different diameters and will give a length (try 1" and 2"). The bigger the diameter, the slower air will whoosh out of the vent and less likely to cause noise. This should get you through.  IF NOT email me.  You will find my email by clicking on my name-- S Clark.  Ok, let's try again!

Would internal dimensions of 9"x13"x7" work?

That should do nicely as it is just under .5 cubic feet.  It gives you enough room to add a brace or two internally.
