Chad,

I owned the Aura Note prior to getting the Decco.  There is NO comparison.   Don't get me wrong, the Aura Note is a great unit, but it only had a USB input, and I wasn't that impressed with the DAC.  The CD player was great but who really plays CDs anymore? Both the Decco and the Aura Note have 50W amps but the one in the Decco sounds like a more powerful amp.  It definitely drives my speakers better than the Aura Note did.  I like the Decco's sound more than I did the Aura Note.

Thanks Mariusz.  They both look interesting.  Did you enjoy either/both?

Chad

Both nice but different.
Aura has a lot more muscles and World class CD player. (very well thought out component)
Shanling sounds sweeter but your choice of speakers is very limited.
CD player is good but not great. iPod option ...... well, it is mostly for convenience and cool feature. (Overall - nice if you need the CDP if not, I would look into new Glow Amp.)
Both very well build.
For second system - awesome all in one machines (do not have the favorite - ...... would need to spend some time with both units just to be sure ) There is also a Consonance SET integrated amp/head amp with usb (no CDP) which is also very nice. Sorry but the model number escapes me at this moment.

I think the decco offers optical and SPDIF digital inputs as well.
