Sharp SD-SG11: Bingo! I Guessed Right

I can't remember who first recommended the Usher Audio S-520 two-way bookshelf speakers that were advertised on AudioGon, but thanks.

In preparation for my sons X-mas morning I hooked up the Sharp SG-11 with these hefty bookshelf speakers and the sound is impressive. The little Usher's sound very smooth and clear, image well, and get down to 50Hz.

I used some old Kimber cable 4TC speaker cable and PBJ IC's I had lying around. The tweeter is a little sibiliant, but I expect this will settle down after some play time. Plenty of dB's for a bedroom or small listening room, unless you like earsplitting sound levels.

I think that this combination will keep my 12 year old happy as a clam, easily through his college years.

Pretty nice for a $340 total investment!

Anyone know where the SG-11 or other 1-bit Sharpies can still be bought? I stood on the fence too long...
