I wouldn't have sold or traded thousands of LP's and replaced them with cd's  because I couldn't get over the lack of surface noise.  About 2 years ago I discovered what a record cleaning machine (in my case the VPI 16.5) does to eliminate or minimize surface noise and that a really good tt, cart, and phono preamp make minor surface noise easy to ignore.  Now I'm buying back my record collection for more than I sold it for!  Oh, the money I wasted on cd's I'll never listen to again.

This is a funny question.  We all wish we could do things over, but if we did, we'd all be ignorant and less appreciative of what we have or had.  Still, I wish I bought a Carina instead of going through cheaper tubeless amps, which I'm still doing because I can't get myself to put that kind of money down right now

I feel good about what I have learned in this hobby over the last 20 years. One thing though: in 1987 I wish I had plunged head-long into vinyl instead of having been swept up in the digital revolution.

Also, I could have saved my self some energy if I had happened upon single-driver speakers a little sooner, but I found them eventually.

I have been at this hobby for more than 43 years lots of eq has come and gone in that time but am happy now well today I am who knows tomorrow . Things I should of been buying more of records - more records and more records. Things I will not miss cassette tape and cassette players owned a dozen or more and not one lasted more than 3 months . Things I regret a long time ago giving away a bunch of records I wish I had them back now . Marc
