Hello!

I need to understand something before I buy my first pair of mono-amps.

I am offered to buy uppgraded amps. The seller says its uppgraded from ref8 to ref8.5v2, but in the older smaller ref8 chassi.

Is this even possible? I just want to make shure that its possible to fit the 8.5v2 technology inside the smaller ref8 chassi.

Will the sound performance still be identical to the ref8.5v2 in the big chassi or will I suffer from lack of something?

Is the difference, just the design of the chassi itself? And that I cant uppgrade to ref9.

But still, the amps I might buy, should be equal in performance to ref8.5v2, right?

Please help so I dont make a misstake here.

Im sorry if I have a poor english.

And sorry for being a rookie. Just trying to learn something here.

Like Einstein said: There are no stupid questions.

All Im asking is if the small boxed ref8 thats now uppgraded to 8.5v2 acording to the seller will peform equally to the "newer 8.5v2" with the bigger chassi.

big chassi:

I just want to make sure there are NO differences other than the visual apperence.

Thanx.

The upgraded Ref 8V2 should have near identical performance as Ref 8.5V2.  Same amp board, same power supply. The difference is that Ref 8.5V2 has a pair of 2200uF capacitor but not the Ref 8V2.
V2 upgrade is offered to Ref 8 customer at a lower price for them to keep up with Nuforce technology.  We are able to do that because we standardize on amp board form factor.

To confirm, open up the top cover to check that the amp board inside is red color. You should also find out where was the upgrade done.
