HUGH AWAY

Folks,

My Mom is very ill in a hospital 450 miles away and I'm leaving early tomorrow to see her.

There is no immediate danger, but her heart is weak and I need to be there.

I am not sure when I'll return, end of the week maybe, but could be a week more.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but I will work very hard on return, I promise!   :bounce:

Seano, your order went off today by registered post!!

Cheers,

Hugh

All the best Hugh. I hope things go as well as they can under the circumstances.

At least it is only forecast to be 22degC for the drive tomorrow and not one of the 43+degC stinkers we have had of late.

Damn........I'd forgotten about that already!!! {And for everyone else, we are refering to the phono section of a GK-1M....I figure while I'm in there hanging platinum sweetmeats I may as well add the other missing electronica.}

We wish your mum luck and good tidings.

Thanks Guys,

Mom is OK, still has the energy to complain, so things are not so bad as we'd thought.

Tomorrow we find out the options from the Doc.

Been warm in Adelaide today.  Got up to 37C, close on 100F.

Cheers,

Hugh

Dear Hugh

Sincere best wishes for your Mum and I hope it all works out well.

I am actually doing another stint in the Royal Brisbane and can't wait to get back home and finish off those Aksa 55 watters and be listening to music instead of all those machines that go "beep"!

Take care,

Bluesky

Thanks Folks,

Much appreciated....  she is not at all well, still in hospital, and I'm awaiting doctor reports on whether to return to see her.  She was able to see my two daughters, which is terrific, we deal with the future as it unfolds.

Our best wishes, Hugh. It's great that the girls could see her, that must have lifted her spirits a little.

Hi Hugh

Sincere best wishes again, I am now back home after spending two weeks in hospital so I like to think I can appreciate your circumstances, at least to a certain degree as I saw and experienced a lot in my interactions with both other patients as well as my own treatment.

One thing I will say is that the staff at the Royal Brisbane are exceptional and I would expect the same where your Mom is too.  We are very lucky to have such good treatment available in Australia.  In my case there was even an emeritus proffessor who oversaw my treatments, you can't ask for more than that.

Back in the saddle, working through a backlog......

Thank you to all who offer best wishes, it's very nice of you.  She is not at all well, but stable for the moment, and has just won a place in a rest home, which we never expected and which is just wonderful, as she can't live on her own with increasing frailty and poor memory.  This is a godsend, my thanks to my Brother's wife Carolyn.

Damn, it's a long way......  300 miles, at an enforced 60mph on our roads, ruthlessly policed.  It takes five and a half hours each way, we know the journey so well now.  The old Cressy is remarkable, this time we made it on premium gas from Mt Gambier to Melbourne on just over half a tank, that's about 40 litres.

I'm about to take delivery of new boards for an enhancement to the Soraya power amp.  As I'm dropping the AKSA range, the idea is to offer the Lifeforce as my base module, The enhanced Soraya, and a new amp, the Maya280, which is 280W//4R.

More to come in NEWS very soon.

Ian, I hope you are feeling much better.....  I will email you today.

Cheers,

Hugh
